| Planning | |
| Pre-Project Planning |
Design Review, 4D Construction Phasing, Scheduling and Simulation, Project Visualization and walkthrough. These capabilities may be used by many team members to both gain acceptance for a design/project or for use as a visual representation in the planning approval process.
|
| Contracts | Ability to create and deliver a coordinated design environment, which now is reflected in contracts, calling for coordination and/or collaboration services. |
| Design | |
| Design Project Management | Creating a coordinated, collaborative model, with the ability to merge multiple designs from a wide range of CAD sources. Creates an audit trail for tracking identified interferences. |
| Design | Extensive design review of 3D models, visualization and walkthrough. Also the ability to apply lighting, textures and materials dynamically. |
| Analysis | Interference detection within and between disciplines, while creating an audit trail and providing the ability to publish the results for wide audience dissemination. |
| Preconstruction | |
| Scheduling | 4D modeling by linking the 3D model with the most popular commerical scheduling software, or within NavisWorks, and then creating time-based visual simulation. |
| Construction | |
| Construction Management | Continued use of the 3D/4D model to determine construction issues, reducing the need to generate Change Orders, RFI's, etc. once construction is under way. |
| Closeout | |
| Commissioning | The 3D model can/should live on, until the eventual demolition of the building or project. This is where the true value lies, as the model is a dynamic representation of the built environment. |
| Ongoing Operations | |
| Asset Management | It is possible to hyperlink any type of data to a NavisWorks 3D model, which could include manufacturer websites, furniture information, scheduled maintenance, etc. |
| Maintenance | Schedules or any other type of document could be linked to specific objects or groups of objects. |
| Building Control Systems | Linkage to any object could also include help data for security, safety, or emergency services, as well as information related to any other aspect of the building. |
