Planning
Programming PREMISS project is defining a requirements model, which can be linked to the design model. This requirements model can serve as basis for an IFC extension.
Pre-Project Planning Space Layout Editor from Digital Alchemy is a tool that loads a client space program from Excel and generates space objects in Visio. It includes several tools to optimize space layout. Combined with Digital Alchemy's IFC Model Exchange module for Visio, the spaces + any building elements added in Visio can be exported for more detailed design in other CAD products. Note: the resulting IFC model is a fully conformant 3D IFC BIM.

Design
Design Project Management PREMISS model is related also to the design management.
Design We have designed, documented, and developed certification test suites for multiple "BLIS Views" of IFC. In this design process category, these include:
  • Space Planning to Arch Design
  • Arch Design to HVAC Design
Analysis A similar "BLIS View" (documentation and certification test suites) exists for Arch Design to Thermal Analysis. Digital Alchemy's IFC BIM Quantity Takeoff module will generate quantities reports as Excel spreadsheets from any IFC BIM.
Code Compliance Three of our member organizations - Pacific Northwest National Labs, Solibri, and Digital Alchemy - have solutions in this area called ComCheck EZ, Solibri Model Checker, and SMARTcodes for SMC. Please see their contact information on the BLIS web site.

Construction
Procurement Digital Alchemy's IFC BIM Quantity Takeoff module will generate quantities reports as Excel spreadsheets from any IFC BIM. Tocoman's iLink product suite integrates with ADT, ArchiCAD, and Tekla to automate generation of quantities from BIMs in any of these products. These quantities can then be passed to several cost estiamting, scheduling, and procurement applications.
